How does QES differ from a regular electronic signature? +

QES is the only form of electronic signature that, under Article 25 of eIDAS, has the same legal force as a handwritten signature across all 27 EU member states. Standard electronic signatures (SES) and advanced (AES) have lower evidentiary value and require additional proof in case of dispute.

What documents can I sign with QES? +

Almost everything: commercial and civil contracts, tax declarations (e-PIT, JPK_V7, KSeF e-invoices), government applications (ePUAP), bank agreements, employment documents, financial statements. Exceptions: actions requiring notarial form (real estate sales, certain company changes).

How long does issuance take? +

With our assisted video verification: typically 24 hours from paid order. Standard process via provider helpline: 7 business days, requiring either an in-person visit or self-managed video verification.

Can a foreign citizen obtain a Polish QES? +

Yes. Required: a passport or EU national ID, plus a Polish or international phone number (for SMS OTP). Video verification is conducted in Polish or English with a bilingual consultant. Polish PESEL or NIP is NOT required.

Card + reader or mobile SimplySign? +

Card with reader (PKCS#11) โ€” for frequent signers, works offline, independent from smartphone. SimplySign mobile โ€” smartphone app, signing via SMS code or biometrics, no hardware purchase needed. For companies we recommend SimplySign as more practical.
