Preparation
Prepare your ID document and a phone (for SMS OTP). Check camera, microphone, lighting. You receive a Daily.co link by email.

Greeting and session ID
The consultant introduces themselves, provides a session number for you to note. Verifies that you are the person ordering the certificate.

Document presentation
You show your ID document from both sides. The consultant reads the data aloud, asks you to confirm. Checks security features (hologram, microprint).

Face match
You show your face next to the document — the consultant compares the match. May ask for several angles.

Application and signature
Together you fill the application electronically. You receive an SMS with an OTP code — enter it in the panel. After Certum acceptance — certificate activates in 1-4 hours.

Why is video verification required? +
Under eIDAS and Polish trust services law, a qualified trust service provider must positively verify the identity of the person receiving the certificate. Video verification is the only remote method accepted by the European Commission (CIR 2015/1502) — the alternative is an in-person visit with an ID document.
What documents do I need? +
EU citizens: national ID card or passport. Non-EU: passport (biometric preferred). The document must be valid and undamaged. For corporate signatures: additionally a power of attorney or KRS entry confirming company representation.
Is verification done in English? +
Yes. Our consultants conduct verification in Polish and English. Foreign nationals applying for a Polish QES — no problem. Other languages (German, Spanish, French) available on prior request with extended booking time.
What exactly happens during the session? +
The consultant: 1) welcomes you, 2) asks you to show your ID document from both sides on camera, 3) asks you to show your face next to the document (visual match), 4) fills the application form with you electronically, 5) collects your electronic signature on the application. Session: 20-30 minutes.
Is the recording stored? How long? +
Yes — per Certum / eIDAS requirements, the session recording is archived as proof of identity verification. Retention: 35 years (same as certificate validity + audit period). Access limited to Certum auditors and regulatory bodies (Polish Ministry of Digital Affairs, NIK).
What if verification fails? +
Most common reasons: unreadable document, poor lighting, internet issues, data mismatch. In such cases we schedule a free re-attempt — no need to pay again. Average: 96% of sessions succeed on first attempt.

Yes — slots available Mon-Fri 9:00-17:00 CET, plus selected weekends for Express orders. Minimum 2 hours advance booking. You see the next available slot in the order panel immediately after payment.
